2026-27 Development 1 Clinics:
Directions from Hockey sask on registering and completing the Development 1 certification:
COACHING DEVELOPMENT 1
Hockey Saskatchewan's Development 1 coaching clinics are now open. The deadline to meet all coach requirements is December 20, 2026
Development 1 is a requirement for:
- Under-13 AA male & female head coaches
- Under-15 AA male & female assistant coaches
- Under-16 AA assistant coaches
- Under-18 AA All male & female coaches
- Under-18 AAA male & female assistant coaches
- Accredited schools assistant coaches
The Development 1 course is a blend of e-learning modules and the in-person classroom.
Development 1 registration process:
STEP 1: The Hockey Canada Development 1 online (e-learning module) course is the first of two components of this coach training program
Coaches MUST COMPLETE the e-learning module as it is the PRE-REQUISITE to registering for the in-person clinic.
STEP 2: Attend an in-person session. Please see the table below.

Full certification is obtained when these training steps are completed:
- Complete the e-learning Hockey Canada LLB Development 1 module
- Attend in-person training
- Submit & pass Development 1 workbook
- Have a field evaluation of one practice
- Complete the online evaluation for Making Ethical Decisions (MED)
- Head Coaches in U13AA & U18AA must be Certified in Development 1.
